The New Animated Series' Opening Sequence Selected the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Song

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, unveiled a new introductory sequence. It features our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and criminals fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at multiple heart-wrenching personal histories for characters such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, Fjord.

Overall, the opening appears stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the song choice.

The intro employs "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song composed by producer and singer the talented musician. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second one put out by the production company's record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental option, and I suspect that devotees of the second campaign will appreciate its presence.

But for me, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and energy that was part of the second campaign's live-play sessions. "Your Turn to Roll", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it improved further when co-founder the performer added lyrics to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in 2018.

Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the song was memorable and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the follow-up series at that point, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my phone. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The show's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords in my opinion. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its mood is a little off.

Naturally, Critical Role has stated that the series will have a few surprises and differences from the original live sessions. An adjusted mood for its intro appears as among these.

The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the actual play are accessible on Spotify and the video site.
